Welcome to Lincoln School!!
It is important to help your child have a good start at school, here are some things that you can do to get your child prepared for school:
- practice tying,zipping, buttoning, snapping
- counting
- cutting
- identify colors and shapes
- identify his or her name and letters in their name
Parents:
- make sure child brings homework on a daily basis
- make sure child gets at least 8 hours of sleep
- have child eat something before coming to school
- write first and last name on all articles of clothing including backpacks
- no toys are to be brought to school (except on sharing day)
- double knot shoe laces velcro shoes are best
- snacks are NOT allowed (if child needs to eat during the 3 hours and 20 minutes of class please speak to me)
School Requirements:
- if child is ill call the school office to report their absence (595-7260)
- please make all appointments before or after school
- if picking child up from school report to school office and sign child out
- if you know ahead of time of your child's absence please inform the office
- please fill out all forms provided the first day of school. The emergency card is especially important (please inform the office immediatly of any address or phone number changes)
School Hours
- Morning Kindergarten 8:00-11:20
- Afternoon Kindergarten 11:35-2:55
- Foggy Day Morning Kindergarten -9:00-12:20
- Foggy Day Afternoon Kindergarten 11:30-2:55
- If child is late they must report to the school office for a tardy slip
B-Day!!!
We are allowed to celebrate b-days, however no sugar treats are allowed and all treats must be store bought. Please talk to me a day or two before your child's birthday.
some acceptable snacks are:
- cheese crackers
- popcorn
- gogurts
- fruit
- cheese sticks
- 100% fruit juice
Homework
It is extremely important that your child bring homework back to school on a daily basis. As parents your are setting the example to your child about being responsible. Also, please provide your child with a quiet area to complete homework assingments and provide them with the following materials at home:
- scissors
- glue
- crayons
- pencil
- never use a pen or markers for homework assignments
Parent Volunteers
- We encourage and welcome parents to volunteer in the classroom. There are a few forms that need to be completed before coming into the classroom and volunteering. Please speak to be ASAP if you are interested in volunteering.
By working together we can make your child's first year of school the best ever. Please communicate with me any concerns or problems that you may have. I am looking forward to working with you and your child.
